Financial Fitness Club

Quaboag Valley Community Development Corporation (QVCDC), is offering a 12-month matched savings program for low income residents of the Quaboag Region and Southern Worcester County. The program is called the HARRISON and DIANE QUIRK FINANCIAL FITNESS CLUB.

What is the Harrison and Diane Quirk Financial Fitness Club?

QVCDC’s Harrison and Diane Quirk Financial Fitness Club is a financial capability building and matched savings program offered with the MIDAS Collaborative and Monson Savings Bank. Its purpose is to assist low-income residents who live in the Quaboag Region and Southern Worcester County to put money aside for one specific goal: appliance ownership, business development, a down payment on a house, household repairs, post-secondary education, rental assistance, or vehicle ownership. For every dollar saved in the program, QVCDC will match savings 1:1 up to a capped amount. This program is made possible thanks to a generous donation by Harrison and Diane Quirk; as well as funding from Baystate Health, The Health Foundation of Central MA, and the Massachusetts Division of Banks.

How does the Harrison and Diane Quirk Financial Fitness Club work?

The Financial Fitness Club account is a matched savings account set up through the program. Every dollar deposited in a savings account will be matched up to a capped amount.

The Harrison and Diane Quirk Financial Fitness Club is a yearlong program. QVCDC will help participants choose one of the savings goals above and make a deposit schedule.
